Clip Tools Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

This policy covers the creatorXchange Clip Tools browser extension (the “extension”), made by creatorXchange, Inc. (“creatorXchange,” “we,” “us”). Our main Privacy Policy covers the rest of our website and platform.

1. What the extension does

The extension has one purpose: to send the clipping campaign page you are looking at to two creatorXchange tools, CampaignRank (which scores the campaign) and Clip Check (which checks your clip against the campaign’s brief).

2. What it reads, and when

The extension reads nothing until you click one of its two buttons. When you click, it reads, from the browser tab you have open and only that tab:

  • the visible text of the page, including the parts of the page shown inside embedded frames, such as a campaign’s brief, rates, budget and rules; and
  • the web address of the page, so the tool can recognize which campaign it is.
  • It does not run in the background, does not read other tabs, and does not read your browsing history, bookmarks, passwords, cookies, form entries or anything you type.

    3. Where that information goes

After you click, the extension opens creatorxchange.co in a new tab and passes the page text and address to it in the part of the web address after the “#”. Browsers do not send that part of an address to any server. The creatorxchange.co page reads it once and then removes it from the address bar.

The creatorxchange.co page then sends the page text to our servers so we can pick out the campaign’s numbers and rules. To do that we use Google’s Gemini service as a processor. We use the result only to fill in CampaignRank or Clip Check for you. We do not store the page text, and we do not use it for any other purpose.

If the page address identifies a campaign on creatorXchange or on another clipping platform that publishes campaign details, our servers look that campaign up by its address to get its public numbers.

    4. What we keep

  • Usage counts. To limit use, we count each day how many pages or screenshots each visitor sends us to read, keyed to the visitor’s network address, and how many clips each Clip Check code checks, keyed to that code. Counts are deleted automatically within two days.
  • Clip Check. If you then use Clip Check, the video you upload is sent to Google’s Gemini service for review and deleted as soon as the review finishes. We do not keep your videos. The email address and Clip Check code you enter are checked to confirm you are a course buyer. We don’t store your email address; the code is kept only as the daily usage count above.
  • Your browser. Clip Check remembers your email and code in your own browser on creatorxchange.co so you don’t retype them. You can clear this at any time by clearing that site’s data in your browser.
  • The extension itself stores nothing and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.

    5. What we never do

  • We do not sell, rent or share this information with anyone except the service providers that help us run these tools (such as Google for Gemini and Cloudflare for hosting), and only to run them.
  • We do not use it for advertising, to build profiles of you, or to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
  • We do not let people read it, except where you ask us to for support, where needed for security, or where the law requires it.
  • Our use of information received through the extension follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

    6. Your choices

You decide when the extension reads a page, because it only reads when you click. You can remove the extension at any time from your browser’s extensions page.

    7. Changes

If we change what the extension reads or how we use it, we will update this policy and its date before the change takes effect.
